Pay It Forward Blog Posts...

The Dalai Lama has said that ͞Our prime purpose in life is to help others. I truly believe that. You see, by helping others, we forget to focus on us, our immediate needs, problems or challenges. Instead for a short period of time, we are solely focused on someone else, and with that comes love, acceptance, enrichment, forgiveness, learning, and inspiration. So let us all strive to make a difference in someone’s life on a daily basis, no matter how small. It can start with a smile to a stranger, a conversation with a random elderly person, the homeless guy standing at the traffic light. You see, paying kindness forward does not have to include huge gestures or involve enormous amounts of money. Very often it starts with giving someone a little bit of your time, and really listening to what they have to say. You will be surprised at how that small pebble you threw in the water, creates endless ripples of possibilities.

Giving some love back over the festive season

Every year our family of 5 decide how we can help “Santa” spread some love and light in someone else’s life. Usually someone that has a specific need or want. This year the kids really wanted to help under privileged children on a Stellenbosch farm in South Africa. Many of these children live below the poverty line, and are dependent on parents that are unskilled with little to no education and can afford the bare minimum to celebrate birthdays or events like Christmas – if anything at all. So we set off and purchased some Christmas presents for boys and girls, packing it all in child friendly buckets, and delivering them to the unsuspected kids on the farm. It really warmed our hearts to see the smiles on their little faces when they received their presents from “Santa”. More importantly it teaches our children that there are needs outside our own wants and desires, and that we should always share what we have with others. So go on, spread the love and always remember to pay it back.

Lots of love,
