Travel Blog Posts..

I read somewhere that travel is the only thing that you buy that truly makes you richer. I do not know who the author is, but man do I agree. I was forced about 4 years ago to quite my secure corporate life and move continents to a new country and new culture. What an adventure. The travel bug took a hold of me and together with hubby and 2 girls at the time – now 2 girls and a boy we took off on countless journeys. When you travel you bring a little piece of the mystery and romance and culture back with you. Memories become stories at dinner time, and keeps us in touch with something magical. So come along with me on my explorations as I share some of our family’s adventures, the mishaps and the precious moments!

Staycation! Cape Town, South Africa

This December holiday we found ourselves back in our hometown, and we were so excited to do some local exploring. We mostly stayed in the surrounding area of the False Bay Coast and ventured out to some of our favorite spots like Noordhook Farm Village, Cape Point Vineyards, Clifton 4th Beach, and of course the beautiful and historic town of Stellenbosch. Very often we want to travel far to discover amazing adventures, and there is nothing wrong with that. However let us always remember that undiscovered gems are also in our hometowns – we just need to take the time to find them. So here is too many more staycations and discovering all that your wonderful country has to offer – where ever that may be.

Lots of love,

Georgia!

Our recent trip a few months ago to Georgia (the country, not the state) was breathtaking.

What many people describe as located on the balcony of Europe is really a treasure cove – and best of all very easy on the pocket. It is one of the few undiscovered places that is still fairly affordable, and with lots to do from swimming in the Black Sea with its warm waters, taking in the historic architecture around the age old city of Tbilisi, or keeping the kids entertained at the many venues around the sea side town of Batumi, there are lots to do for young and old. For us as a family of 5 with 3 young children aged 6 ,5 and 18 months, we love visiting places that are enjoyable to us all. The cherry on top was the delicious food that could be found at every restaurant, the road trips to nearby mountain resorts, and discovering old monasteries and castles along the way. What are you waiting for? Make Georgia your next vacation!

Lots of love,

Sri Lanka!

The land of lush vegetation, tea plantations, scenic train rides, sandy warm beaches and palm trees– yes we are in Sri Lanka!

The kids and I were pretty excited about visiting this beautiful gem and swimming in the warm Indian Ocean. We were not disappointed. We basically took our chances and went during monsoon season. Yes we hit a few storms but honestly it was more exciting and added to the sense of adventure than anything else. We stayed at a beautiful fairly new hotel resort named Hotel Rui. The highlight of our trip was taking a road trip to the elephant orphanage and just soaking up these splendid animals in all its glory! So go on, kick your shoes off and book those tickets to this island destination. It is one that you will sure enjoy!

Maldives!

If this destination is not on everyone’s bucket travel list, there must be something amiss.

In 2015 Hubby surprised the kids and I with a holiday to the Maldives. This was one of those holidays where everything you see in the magazines and on TV, is 100% true. Clearblue water, of course. Abundant sea life and some of the best snorkeling experiences in the world, absolutely. Long sandy golden beaches, great food, unforgettable sunsets and beauty everywhere you look, no doubt about it. This is one destination that I look forward to visiting a few more times! We stayed at the wonderful Kandooma Holiday Inn Resort, and was so delighted with the excellent customer service, friendly staff, and out of this world kids club that allowed hubby and me to spend some romantic time together. Hope to see you soon Maldives!

Love,

NatashaM
